Mr. Kochan received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Catholic University of America, where he majored in Mechanical-Ocean Engineering.
He is a Fellow, Diplomate, and member of the founding board of the American College of Forensic Engineering and Technology. Mr. Kochan has over 30 years of forensic investigative experience in mechanical marine equipment and system design, personal injury and accident investigation, consumer product defect analysis, petrochemical process system failure analysis, and maritime catastrophic fire and collision events.
He has been qualified as an engineering expert in numerous District, State and Federal courts, and is specifically recognized as a large loss specialist related to mechanical system design, product defect analysis, accident reconstruction, forensic analysis procedures and marine vessel operational safety.
Mr. Kochan is a member of the Hampton and Florida Yacht Clubs, and he serves his community through volunteer efforts as a member of the Hampton City Zoning Board Grievance Committee, and as an active supporter of Virginia Youth Sailing, a 501c-3 organization.
He enjoys spending weekends boating with his family.
Mr. Kreimborg earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Kreimborg has over 40 years of engineering experience including construction and project management of power plants plant projects, computer centers and commercial offices.
His experience in forensic engineering began in 1995, and he has investigated assignments involving structural damage and collapse, foundation and geotechnical failures, commercial roofing defects, and leakage and hail damage. Mr. Kreimborg has been qualified as an engineering expert in District, State and Federal courts. Mr. Kreimborg enjoys spending his spare time playing golf, tennis, or bridge, and visiting entertainment venues in Washington, DC near his home.
Mr. Graham is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years of technical experience including electronics, electrical, software, safety, process plant operations, complex systems and maintenance, significant reverse engineering and technical intelligence gathering.
Mr. Graham has worked in austere environments deployed as a scientist, weapons technical intelligence expert and IED exploitation engineer and advisor. Mr. Graham is experienced in site and structure inspection and capture of photographic evidence.
Mr. Ford is a licensed Professional Engineer with 25 years of experience in Quality and Systems Engineering. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and Project Management Master’s Certificate from George Washington University.
He has successfully served as an engineer in both the public and private sectors. His extensive professional career includes functioning as the subject matter expert for investigations of residential and industrial failures.
Mr. Ford’s additional training includes Risk Management, NCIS Counter Intelligence, NAVSEA Litigation, Modeling and Simulation, Technical Writing, and Records Management of Classified Documents. He enjoys a round of golf in his spare time.
Mr. Forbes has 30 years of experience in Civil and Environmental Engineering and is particularly experienced in design management including new facility site planning, sewage system design, environmental protection, and construction surveillance.
He is a diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and has managed numerous facility planning, design, and building efforts in Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland. Additionally, he has managed projects in Italy, Puerto Rico, and Cuba for the U.S. Navy. A significant part of this experience has involved the determination of adequacy of existing facilities for existing or intended uses, compliance with codes, regulations and standards, and suitability for continued use.
Mr. Forbes is also a Board-Certified Engineer in Water Supply/Wastewater and performs forensic analysis of civil, structural, product defect, waterfront structure and environmental engineering failures.
Mr. Shave is a Professional Engineer licensed in Massachusetts, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Louisiana, Virginia, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, DC, Kentucky, W. Virginia and New York. He is also a Licensed General Contractor in North Carolina.
He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has more than 45 years of experience in high quality, highly specialized engineering products and complex large-scale engineering services for critical applications.
During Mr. Shave’s career, he has been employed in various engineering, design and manufacturing organizations including aircraft, aerospace and the power industry- where he has held positions in engineering and design, project engineering, project management, business development and senior executive (division management and general management) positions. In his spare time, he plays "attempted golf."
Mr. Sanborn is a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience in engineering, project management, program management, government policy development and management, and the maritime operations community.
Mr. Sanborn has worked in the engineering and construction field for over ten years with experience providing expert cradle-to-grave construction project management, casualty response and remediation, and integrated program management with extensive engineering, leadership, and management experience involving military, maritime, commercial and industrial applications as well as in residential design and construction.
Captain Alavi is a seasoned professional with a 45-year track record spanning every aspect of the maritime sector including seafaring, ship owning and operating, drafting and implementation of regulations and policies, financial, technical and strategic planning. Uniquely capable in applying industry knowledge with foresight, which has been proven to increase revenue and return on investment while factoring in trends to position for future shifts within various industries. Coupled with broad management expertise in strategy, budgeting, staff recruitment, KPI measurement, governmental liaising, and industry networking, he is an invaluable asset at FAEC.
Mr. Gordon has over twenty years of work experience in the aerospace field, with his technical background from the materials and processes (M&P) arena within mechanical and aerospace engineering. Mr. Gordon has been delegated by the FAA under Order 8100.15 to perform approval of technical data & find compliance to airworthiness standards, preparation/approval/execution of test plans, development of program-specific certification plans, approval of operational and repair information, approval of airworthiness limitation information, establishment of conformity inspection requirements, performance of compliance inspections, and approval of data for major repairs for FAR 23 and CAR 3 aircraft.
Additionally, Mr. Gordon has supported the Space Shuttle Program for 86 missions to include over 18 years in the thermal protection and structures area. Mr. Gordon studied at the Florida Institute of Technology where he earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993 and MS degree in Aerospace Engineering and Material Science & Engineering in 2000.
Mike lives in Vero Beach, Florida with his wife (Stacy) and three children (Adrianna, Brandon, and Patrick).
Mr. Jacobson is an Evidence Photographers International Council - Certified Evidence Photographer, holding the same forensic photography certification as many police investigators, crime lab photographers, fire investigators and federal agents. His videos and photographs are instrumental in determining the causation of losses in civil and criminal litigation, construction defects, and environmental damages, and more. Mr. Jacobson has been designated as an expert witness for numerous depositions and trials.
In his spare time, he shares his knowledge of photography by teaching workshops to attorneys, government agencies and private firms.
Mr. Keith is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in the state of North Carolina. He is a proud graduate of Penn State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and his Master’s in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
He has over 30 years of experience spanning various electronic and electrical industries and products. His expertise is in the areas of electrical and electronic hardware design, product compliance, patent infringement, failure analysis, surge analysis, fire investigation and telecom and data communications, industrial automation, and controls, embedded processor design, and high speed circuit design in both analog and digital systems. He has investigated numerous cases for attorneys, Insurance companies, industry and government. < /p>
In addition, he is a founding and current board member of Liquid Software Designs Inc., providing Practice Management and EMR software solutions to the eye care industry.
As a professionally qualified expert in the analysis and evaluation of aviation matters involving flight operations, pilot training and airframe maintenance, Mr. Kochan is a FAA qualified pilot, certified flight instructor and airframe & power plant mechanic with inspector authorization.
He is a Certified FAR Part 121 Air Carrier pilot and flight training Captain (retired) in commercial, single and multi-engine land and sea, turbo-prop and turbojet powered aircraft. Additionally, he provides clients with pilot flight instruction and aircraft maintenance consultations and inspections.
Dr. Kochan is a recognized industry expert in the areas of aviation human factors, pilot safety training, flight hazard recognition and flight operation efficiency. She is currently a Line Captain on Boeing-767 for major air freight transport carrier.
Dr. Kochan developed and maintained Human Factors and Crew Resource Management programs for a major U.S. Air Carrier, is experienced in providing liaise and interface between the professional human factors community and clients and employers, and has recognized human factors expertise in aviation safety and pilot evaluation techniques. Additionally, she holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot airman certificate and Airframe and Powerplant Certificates.
Mr. Lopera earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida and is pursuing a Master's degree in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
He is a licensed Professional Engineer and brings over eleven years of experience as a structural engineer for hundreds of projects including churches, office buildings, amenity centers, multi-family buildings and custom ocean-front homes. Mr. Lopera is fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Moskowitz is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Connecticut. With decades of engineering experience, Mr. Moskowitz brings a level of professionalism and engineering knowledge that is a great asset to FAEC.
He received his Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine in 1995. Mr. Moskowitz subsequently earned a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Bridgeport and a Master's in Construction Administration from Columbia University.
He specializes in roofing systems, retaining walls, structural framing, foundation systems, building collapse, trip & fall, mold remediation, accident reconstruction, warranty issues and storm event damage.
Mr. Moskowitz also teaches Professional Engineering Continuing Education for PDH Online, PERC, Inc., Marzzo Engineering, and Half-Moon Seminars.
Mr. Motyczka is a highly qualified accident investigator, reconstructionist and investigator with more than 12 years of experience devoted exclusively to vessel and vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction. A United States Coast Guard Licensed Mariner specializing in pleasure vessel and personal watercraft accidents and incidents. Ten years of marine policing experience in the waterways of New Jersey, including the Hudson and Delaware Rivers.
He is experienced in the investigation and reconstruction of motor vehicle accidents occurring within roadway construction work zones. Experienced in courtroom testimony, Mr. Motyczka has testified in excess of 150 separate court proceedings and testified in the Superior Courts of New Jersey as a subject matter expert in traffic accident reconstruction.
He has 28 years total police experience, including 25 years with the New Jersey State Police, and he is currently a bonded and insured New Jersey Licensed Private Investigator.
Mr. Moynahan is a graduate materials engineer with over 10 years of professional, domestic, and international system design and analysis experience. His safety analysis expertise includes investigation of equipment hazards, elimination of safety defects, and implementation of protection procedures to prevent corrosion and mechanical failure. He has experience in identifying, analyzing, and replacing electrical wiring hazards.
Serving as an expert advisor to several analysis boards for the United States Coast Guard, Mr. Moynahan performed legal misconduct and accident investigations for personnel, motor vehicles, merchant vessels, aircraft, and hardware failure incidents.
Mr. Rogers is a 1979 graduate of North Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a licensed Electrical Contractor in the State of North Carolina. His professional career includes extensive practical experience in electrical engineering, including instrument and control system design, electrical troubleshooting, and technical management.
He is very experience in the evaluation of electrical fire causes including residential and industrial fire cases. He has been called upon to provide technical assistance relating to electrical injuries, lightning damages, and fire causes. Mr. Rogers' experience also includes control system design final approval in the nuclear power industry. His approval encompassed mechanical, civil, as well as electrical designs. He has extensive experience managing large scale electrical restorations on Grand Cayman Island following Hurricane Ivan.
Mr. Webber is a Certified Fire Investigator, a Certified Marine Investigator and a Private Investigator. He specializes in fire and explosion investigations, marine vessel fires and thefts, vehicle and heavy equipment fires and thefts, background investigations, and SIU investigations.
Mr. Webber has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts. He spent 23 years in Law with the Springfield, Massachusetts Police Department. Retired in 1994, he has since performed services including fire science documentation, scene photography, preservation of evidence, witness interviews, background investigations, and expert testimonies.
Ms. Will, has over twenty-six years of experience examining cases from North Carolina and 42 other states, as well as internationally. She has been accepted as an expert witness and testified in state civil and/or criminal courts in eleven states, and in federal court. Ms. Will has also been appointed by state and federal courts.
She is a member and immediate past President of the Association of Forensic Document Examiners (AFDE) and a member of the National Association of Document Examiners (NADE). Ms. Will serves as Vice President of the Forensic Specialties Accreditation Board (FSAB). Her areas of specialty are handwriting identification and document examination.
Dr. Woodhouse has over 35 years of experience in Rehabilitation and Biomedical fields, specializing in injury mechanics and causation relating to impacts. He has additional expertise in orthopedic and industrial biomechanics and medical records review. His specific expertise in analyzing injuries related to high and low speed motor vehicle impacts, occupational injuries, lifting, pushing, and pulling injury, slip-trip-fall injury, and injuries relating to sports and sports equipment.
He also has expertise in research methods and statistical evaluation and has provided expert testimony in courts of law. Dr. Woodhouse has also provided biomechanical opinions in criminal courts on matters pertaining to murder, manslaughter, child & elder abuse, assault, police brutality and traumatic brain injury.
Mr. Pearlstein is a 1987 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. He is licensed in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North & South Carolina, and holds a Georgia unrestricted electrical contractor’s license.
Mr. Pearlstein has extensive experience in power, industrial process control, communication systems, and commercial and residential electrical systems. This experience includes all facets of design, project management, installation and commissioning. He has investigated a wide variety of fires, power system failures and accidents, electrocutions, lightning and surge damage claims. He has also acted as expert witness on control systems and fires of electrical origin.
Mr. Lawson is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator as well as a Certified Marine Investigator. Mr. Lawson’s background includes fire service, law enforcement, and private industry work that spans over 25 years. Mr. Lawson served on local and state law enforcement levels before his time in the private industry with a major insurance carrier.
Mr. Lawson is not only skilled in the public sector, but also in the insurance industry where he spent ten years with the SIU fire division of a major insurance company. During his tenure as an insurance professional, Mr. Lawson held the titles of fire investigator, and lead fire investigator, and participated in the leadership development program.
Mr. Lawson has testified in both state and federal courts as an expert witness in both fire and marine investigations. Mr. Lawson has held certifications as a police officer, firefighter 1 and 2, fire inspector 1 and 2, HAZ-MAT, Certified Marine Investigator, Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and LA Certified Fire Investigator. During his tenure as a state investigator, Mr. Lawson was selected as the 2004 LA Investigator of the year through the Louisiana Chapter of IAAI.
For more than 35 years, Mr. Copeland has been a leader in his field of engineering, construction and failure analysis serving a diverse range of organizations. Mr. Copeland is a keen analyzer of events, systems and ambiguities to determining outcomes used in forensic studies. With strong background in multiple sectors of construction, and facilities maintenance within both the public and private enterprises, Mr. Copeland has successfully completed hundreds of complicated projects worldwide in order to determine capacities, abilities and failures.
In addition, Mr. Copeland has experience in financial forensics analysis relating to legal, regulatory and contractual exhortations. Mr. Copeland is a graduate of Old Dominion University of Norfolk VA with both a Master of Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with concentrations in construction and forensic engineering. He is driven by processes that bring strategic, financial and operational improvements to organizations. He also has a proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage capital resources, project teams, and large size budgets. Mr. Copeland is an enthusiast for airplanes, firearms, and family travel.
Mr. Bell is a licensed Professional Engineer in California. Mr. Bell uses the latest analytical instrumentation in combination with 40 years of practical metallurgical engineering experience to furnish the best possible resolutions in terms of safety, productivity and use of resources. Industry now has ‘Health Care for Machinery’ because of Mr. Bell’s contributions. Clients served are food processing, agriculture, energy and power generation, marine industry, hydrocarbon processing, and now extending to "green" technologies such as wind turbines, geothermal, and transportation for North America and Europe.
According to Mr. Bell, “The concept of ‘Health Care for Machinery’ is used to prevent future problems in equipment. An engineering review of design, materials, and service environment can identify potential failures that are unsafe and costly. It has been my experience that most problems are caused because good engineering basics, that have been well known for 60 years or more, are still being violated. I have been successful by applying in-depth experience, use of metallurgical technologies and excellent problem-solving skills to solve and prevent machinery failures.”
Mr. Beam has over sixteen years of experience in reconstructing small boat collision accidents from physical evidence. Beam was a technical director for a series of collision reconstructions conducted in December 1999 (funded by the US Coast Guard), where he was responsible for all technical aspects of setting up the collision testing, including all instrumentation, video coverage, data collection and data analysis. Mr. Beam is familiar with published safety standards and regulations, including UL, NFPA, USCG, ABYC, IEE45, and international standards. His background also includes specialized development of data broadcasting software for use in satellite communications systems and work with naval aircraft weapons systems.
Mr. Biller specializes in forensic fire protection engineering to evaluate fire hazards as well as fire protection systems and features, (e.g. sprinkler systems, commercial cooking fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and fire barriers). Mr. Biller is a senior fire protection engineer experienced in a diverse portfolio of projects including healthcare, industrial, detention, assembly, retail, residential and office occupancies.
He has a broad range of experience from three important perspectives within the building industry working as owner’s representative, a design professional, and working for various regulating authorities. This experience has helped him develop a more holistic approach to building code compliance and fire protection analysis. He is a registered fire protection engineer in Virginia, New York and North Carolina with over 16 years of experience. Mr. Biller has extensive knowledge of building codes, fire codes, accessibility codes, NFPA standards, and understanding of fire phenomena.
Ms. Wong has provided internationally recognized forensic document examination skills and expertise skills for over twenty-four years and has lent her services to cases ranging from commercial litigation to civil trials on an international scale.
Mr. Wolff has over forty years of experience as an expert analyst and witness for both plaintiff and defense on disputed video evidence. He is a consultant on video systems and the uses of video in legal proceedings. He has been a producer, director and editor of over 300 video programs for business, government and education.
Mr. Jensen, AIA (American Institute of Architects) is a registered Architect in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Mr. Jensen has over twenty-eight years of experience in Architecture, with specialties in structural damage, storm damage and building code and zoning enforcement.
Mr. Spadea has personally worked or supervised more than 1,500 fire and explosion scenes. Mr. Spadea specializes in structural, automotive, marine, and RV fire investigation.
Mr. Cook has over ten years of experience in civil, construction, and structural engineering fields. This experience involves analysis and design of highway bridges, mast arms, signage and miscellaneous structures. His bridge design experience includes AASHTO/FIB beams and flat slab design.
He also has extensive experience with land development and civil engineering, where he has been responsible for design and inspection of storm water drainage systems, retention ponds, potable and waste water systems, along with land development processes.
A graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, Mr. Grogan is a certified forensic document examiner and internationally court qualified handwriting expert. Mr. Grogan has provided services to hundreds of clients ranging from private individuals and law firms to government and law enforcement agencies. Major clients have included Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Public Defenders Office, US Dept. of Justice, US Navy, and Yank Barry (Global Village Marketing International).
Mr. Grogan is the forensic handwriting expert for the CBS TV shows “Swift Justice with Nancy Grace” and “Swift Justice with Judge Jackie Glass”, and has been interviewed on numerous media networks, including Oprah Winfrey’s OWN TV Network.
Mr. Grogan’s professional associations include FBI Charlotte Citizens' Academy Alumni Association, FBI’s InfraGard North Carolina Chapter, North Carolina Association of Private Investigators, Carolina IT Professional Group, and NC4 CyberCop.
Mr. Hogan is a registered engineer in five states, a registered Roof Consultant, a fellow of RCI, Senior Editor of Interface - the journal of the Roof Consultants Institute - and an ICC structural masonry inspector. Mr. Hogan has designed and administered roofing projects in half of the United States using a variety of systems.
His technical articles have appeared in various publications, including Plant Engineering, Interface Journal, Western Roofing, Journal of Hydraulic Engineering and Architectural Specifier.
Dr. Koch is a Board of Visitors Professor of Economics and President Emeritus at Old Dominion University. Holding multiple PhDs from Northwestern University, Yeungnam University, Toyo University, and Kyushu Institute of Technology.
His specialties include industrial organization, pricing, antitrust, microeconomic theory, economics of education, and economics of e-commerce.
Dr. Koch is an accomplished author with over a dozen books and nearly a hundred articles published. He has consulted with colleges and universities, law firms, large corporations, small businesses, and private individuals.
Mr. Kusnir is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Florida with nearly 13 years of engineering and construction experience with an emphasis in site-civil residential development and government facilities, surface water management, potable water, and wastewater.
His design experience includes surface water system analysis and design, improvements to potable water systems, sanitary sewer gravity systems and pump stations, major wastewater treatment facility upgrades, and site-civil design of facilities such as solid waste, schools, hospitals, and parks.
His failure analysis expertise includes both residential and commercial structure defect analyses ranging from foundation failures, floor sinkings, wall crack causations, sub-soil geotechnical evaluations and building structural integrity concerns.
Mr. Ling, a Registered Architect and Professional Planner, has 26 years of experience in the design and construction industry. Mr. Ling has analyzed all aspects of construction projects to support clients in resolving disputes and litigation. His knowledge, experience and thorough analysis have been very effective in resolving construction disputes before litigation.
He is skillful in explaining complex design and construction issues in a simple and clear manner as an expert witness and has testified in depositions, mediations, arbitrations and in court.
With over 35 years of Safety Consulting and Expert Witness Testimony, Mr. Litwin has developed and perfected a deliberate, step-by-step, and orderly approach to analyzing the safety of a product or work procedure.
His Engineering Safety Analysis format and his unique educational background and work experience have given him a competitive edge against his peers. He has testified as an expert in most states, by deposition in over two hundred cases and at trial in well over 100 cases.
Mr. Litwin has published on the subject of powered doors & gates and has worked with the states of Minnesota and California regarding their state standards for residential overhead doors. He has also published, given talks on, and performed research and testing on aquatic accidents.
Mr. Litwin has served as an expert in slip and fall accidents and researched the safety of handicap curb cuts for the City of Chicago. Other work includes empirical testing and anthropometric research on machine guarding. Mr. Litwin has served on the ANSI Scaffolding, ANSI Ladder and ANSI Bakery Machinery Code Committees.
Mr. Lytton is a specialist in forensic photographic detailing and image enhancement. With over 31 years of experience in photographic imaging & analysis design engineering, finite element and system failure determination, he consults on matters involving forensic photographic reconstruction, image enhancement, and presentation.
Dr. Nakhla received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy NY, M.S. and B.S. in mechanical engineering from Cairo University. He worked as a senior engineer at Adapco, and was an assistant professor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Dr. Nakhla has consulted for the automotive, aerospace and energy industries with his expertise in vehicle dynamics, engine design, hybrid systems, thermal management and emissions, aircraft deicing and anti-icing, environmental control, conventional and renewable energy systems.
Dr. Nakhla is a licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Mr. Phillips is a Mechanical Engineer with over 8 years of professional engineering experience and an extensive background working in the marine industry with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock and Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
He received both his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Additionally, Mr. Phillips holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Essentials from Regent University. Since graduation, Mr. Phillips has worked on numerous big projects such as the BMW-7series transmission and the George Washington Aircraft Carrier. He is also the Co-Inventor on Patent 8,358,567 "Arrangement for Fueling A Water Vessel".
After serving in the United States Air Force, Mr. Riddleberger began his law enforcement career with the Portsmouth Police Department. He worked as a detective until joining the State of Virginia Arson and Bomb Squad. Ken trained, attended and later instructed in numerous schools pertaining to fire investigation. He then moved into the private sector working for insurance companies and their counsel, corporations, and civil and criminal attorneys.
Ken has numerous schools of training and in over 35 years as a licensed investigator has conducting over 7,000 fire investigations. He has testified in local, state, and federal courts as an expert in cause and origin of fire.
On a personal note, Ken enjoys time with his family snow skiing, whitewater rafting, and enjoying the Virginia beaches and mountains.
Mr. Smith has over sixteen years of experience in civil and structural engineering design. This experience involves the analysis, design and investigation of structures and associated components consisting of both concrete and steel type frames and wood components.

Mr. Smith's expert witness support experience also involves calculation development and research.
Educated in both mechanical and electrical engineering, Mr. Williams has worked cases in Alabama, California, Florida, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Guatemala, and the Bahamas full time since 1981. Mr. Williams has trial experience in accident reconstruction, and in fire origin & cause (criminal & civil) in both state and federal courts. Mr. Williams is a certified fire investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
Mr. Tanis has 11 years of land development and roadway design experience. His experience includes a variety of projects including single family residential subdivisions, equestrian properties, commercial sites, and roadways. He is responsible for engineering design and technical support for site development, drainage design, construction plan preparation and construction observation.
Mr. Tanis' duties include civil engineering design, storm water management systems, water distribution and wastewater collection systems for residential and commercial properties, as well as permitting and construction monitoring for public and private projects.
In his free time, Mr. Tanis enjoys fishing, softball and spending time with the family.
Mr. Gsell’s professional career includes over 35 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering, testing, and failure analysis. He received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Hartford in 1981 and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1992. Mr. Gsell is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, an IAMI Certified Marine Investigator, and a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer in Power Systems in the State of Texas.
Mr. Smith graduated from Auburn University in 1981 with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. Mr. Smith was Haag certified on residential and commercial roof systems in 2012. Mr. Smith has extensive experience in building pathology and performing structural forensic investigations to determine the cause and origin of damage to residential and commercial buildings and building components. His areas of expertise include damage from severe weather events, impact damage, vibration damage, roof systems and building envelope, source of moisture and duration of damage, ceramic tile and wood flooring and premises liability investigations. Mr. Smith worked in the construction industry for 25 years as project manager, estimator and field supervisor on residential, commercial, industrial (co-generation and peaking power plants), institutional projects, assisted living facilities, and heavy highway/bridge projects obtained by competitive bidding, design-build and negotiation.
Mr. Evans is a Licensed Professional Engineer in North Carolina and a USPTO Registered Patent Agent. Mr. Evans has extensive experience in research and development for telecom, military and consumer products, and over ten years of experience in intellectual property management. Mr. Smith has worked in the engineering industry for over thirty years with experience in consumer and industrial electronics.
Mr. Mainella is a registered Electrical Engineer in Maine and New York with 28 years of experience. He has performed investigations, evaluations, research, technical analysis, report preparation and provided deposition testimony for claims concerning electrical fires, accidents, explosions, electrocutions and the resulting damages to persons and/or property. Areas of concentration in expert witness and forensic engineering consulting include fires, electrocution and shocks, lightning and lightning strikes, and construction claims.
Mr. Hutchison, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida. Mr. Hutchison has worked in the mechanical and construction engineering industry for over thirty-five years.
Mr. Bradshaw graduated from Coker College where his creative talents and attention to detail were cultivated. Specializing in duplication projects, film/video conversions, full video productions, and more. As a Suffolk, VA native, Bradshaw has a deep appreciation for the rich heritage and wonderful people in this area.
Mr. Masucci is a certified Forensic Examiner with more than 12 years in the forensic industry. Mr. Masucci is experienced and certified in all types of digital data recovery, including recovery of digital evidence from crime scenes. He has extensive hands-on technical experience, and in-depth knowledge of computers, operating systems, software applications, and storage media.
Mr. Masucci has worked with Federal, State and Local law enforcement, in addition to government agencies, law firms, professional associations, and academic institutions across the United States and internationally.
Mr. Jimenez is a motivated and personable business professional with exposure in multiple areas of the elevator industry. Owned a successful and profitable small business. He is diplomatic and tactful with professionals and non-professionals at all levels. .
Mr. Jimenez is keenly observant, can analyze situations accurately, and adopt an effective course of action, address groups, speak and write effectively, prepare reports and dictate correspondence. Mr. Manring has studied photography and imagery since high school, where he was president of the Photography Club and Yearbook Photo Editor. In college, he majored in Photography for a year and then went on to obtain a BS degree in Computer Science. In 1990 he started shooting professionally as a part time business venture and in 2005 incorporated Mark Manring Recording, Inc. as a full-time audio recording, videography and photography business.
After 23 years with IBM, his computer background combined with his skills in photo and video editing has allowed him to create a business that incorporates state of the art digital cameras, computers, and top of the line photo and video editing software. He also has more than 20 years of experience in multi-track digital audio recording, editing and mastering.
He has provided in-depth technical consultations, evaluations and image enhancement services for litigations concerning surveillance, health care, insurance and other types of video imaging. Equally proficient in audio technology, he has done audio restoration, noise removal and vocal enhancement for various types of litigation.
Mr. Krewson is registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and Florida with forty years of experience in planning, project management, engineering design and forensic evaluation. He has worked in both government and the private sector.
During his career, he has prepared the designs and provided construction management services for over one thousand engineering projects including comprehensive high schools, middle and elementary schools, hospital additions, churches, multifamily and single-family residential developments, and commercial and industrial projects.
Mr. Senkowski is a Registered Professional Engineer in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and North Carolina. He majored in Fuel Engineering at Penn State University and holds an MBA from Drexel University. He is a certified Professional Coating Specialist with SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) and a certified Level 3 Coatings Inspector with NACE International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers). Mr. Senkowski is a Forensic Engineer specializing in failures associated with protective coatings and corrosion control systems.
He has been an expert witness in arbitration, mediation and circuit court cases involving many facets of coating work. He brings 50 years of experience in the forensic analysis and conditional assessment of coating failures. This work has involved protective and architectural coatings applied to a broad spectrum of surfaces that have included ferrous and non-ferrous metals, masonry, concrete, plastics, wood, and glass. His projects have included the analysis of protective coatings in nuclear and fossil fuel plants, petrochemical facilities, storage tanks, docks and bulkheads, marine vessels, underground pipelines, bridges, sewage and water treatment plants, athletic stadiums, as well as commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Mr. Meador has over 39 years of experience with ExxonMobil in marine, refining and construction safety operations. He has been recognized by ExxonMobil as an Advanced Safety Professional – Safety Management Assessor and serves as company Security Officer for ExxonMobil’s domestic operations, and was a presenter at Marine Log’s 2007 Maritime Security conference in Washington, DC.
Mr. Meador’s extensive experience includes assessing the effectiveness of safety management systems by conducting assessments or as an expert witness, and has conducted numerous incident investigations primary utilizing TapRooT system, as well as an international trainer in Incident Investigation & TapRooT.

April holds the responsibility for overseeing the overall operations of FAEC’s multi-state technical and administrative services. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees all Human Resources, financial, and office management activities within the firm’s growing enterprise.
A graduate of Louisiana State University and former financial portfolio and real estate manager, Mrs. Kochan’s talents for identifying issues and charting a path to a successful solution has served the firm, FAEC clients and trade vendors exceptionally well.
April is a Master Gardener and proud mother of three adult children. She also is a mom to her Labradoodle, Charlie, and a volunteer for the Garden Clubs of Virginia.
Katie is responsible for all print and digital advertising for FAEC. Her work includes identifying new marketing and growth opportunities, seeking out and organizing sponsorships and charitable activities, and promoting FAEC at conventions and conferences nationwide.
Katie is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. There, she attended Cincinnati State College, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Business Management. She devotes her spare time to her side hustle of furniture refinishing/repurposing, sewing, crochet, and jewelry making.
Meagan manages and facilitates projects and operations within the company. Her work includes overseeing daily operations, client relations, and quality assurance for the firm.
Prior to joining FAEC, she worked as a Property Manager with Artcraft Management Inc. in the multi-family housing industry. Meagan is finishing her B.S. in Accounting at Old Dominion University.
Kwamena is responsible for running our laboratory safely and efficiently. He is responsible for all aspects of the lab including correct use of lab equipment and keeping all lab materials and data securely and safely organized and maintained.
Kwamena graduated from Thomas Nelson with an Environmental Engineering degree. He is working on his bachelor’s in civil engineering.
